Malevych, by French scholar Jean-Claude Marcadé is the Ukrainian edition of his French-language publication Malévitch (1990). Marcadé’s work was the first book that encompassed the entire evolution of the Polish-Ukrainian-Russian painter, architect, theorist, pedagogue, and thinker’s art. Unlike many other studies on Malevych, this one distinguishes itself by the attention it pays to the famous artist’s Ukrainian roots (Kazymyr Malevych was born in Kyiv and lived in Ukraine until he was 17), his painterly poetics, and the influence of Ukrainian village art on Malevych’s work. Malevych won the Grand Prix and the 2013 Lviv Publishers’ Forum
