Kateryna Bilokur: Outsider, Folk Artist, Fine Artist? is a two-volume book published on the 50th anniversary of Kateryna Bilokur’s death that brings together reflections on her work by historians, writers, contemporary artists, sociologists, directors, and journalists. The first volume focuses on the specific question of what Bilokur means as a figure today in the early 21st century. The first volume is enriched by texts written by Bilokur herself—her correspondence with art historian Stefan Taranushenko, which lasted nearly 50 years and is itself a certain autobiographical chronicle of the life and work of Kateryna Bilokur.
