UKRAINIAN AVANT-GARDE: A NON-FASHION GUIDE
From 1-30 October2018, Paris is all about the Ukrainian Avant-Garde
Acreative, casual approach –fashion performance and shows, exhibitions, film and book presentations and commemorative souvenirs – will introduce Parisians to the artistic ideals of Kyivans FedirVozianov, KazimirMalevich, Alexander Archipenko, Leonid Hrabovsky, and Oleksandr Bohomazov, among others. The Avant-Garde Non-Fashion Guide project will be launched during Paris Fashion Week 2018.
The Ukrainian Avant-Garde is an exceptionally interesting period of art at the beginning of the 20th century. Contemporary art studies increasingly analyse and refer to it, and related findings are being published in monographs and catalogues. The artistic avant-garde – world renowned and globally popular – is gaining strength and resonance among Ukrainians in Ukraine and abroad. It is a period that Ukrainians are proud of because it is potent and praised.
Ukrainian Avant-Garde: A Non-Fashion Guide is made possible with support from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and through the efforts Lykhach IE, Vozianov IE and ICONE (Paris).
