115 YEARS OF KATERYNA BILOKUR

Kateryna Bilokur’s birthday is December 7. For many years, Rodovid Press, our authors, and our designers have been researching and popularizing the work of this Ukrainian artistic genius. We’ve published four books in conjunction with the Yahotyn State History Museum and the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art.

Linia ART helped create a series of gifts based on her works.

We printed the “Kateryna Bilokur’s Universe” calendar together with Svitlana Korchynska (from Avangardbank) and Iryna Nikitina (POINT Studio).

Cooperating with the Mystetskyi Arsenal for the retrospective, “Kateryna Bilokur: I Want to Be an Artist!” (curator Alisa Lozhkina), was especially meaningful for Rodovid Press and helped thousands of new fans discover Bilokur.

And, finally, a quotation: “Bilokur is that rare example of a self-trained artist who, without the help of any teachers, academies, or models, developed a very masterful technique and style all on her own, one which museums generally classify as “fine art.” Still, in her very realistic drawings, there is an element of fantasy and simplicity that speaks in favor of her ‘amateur’ label.”
